NSC Tryouts

Registration Information

When: Registration is open and will stay open through the final day of NSC tryouts

How: Click on the link provided above on this web page to register at the NYSA website.  You will need to create a profile for any players that you plan to register.  During the registration process you will fill out your player’s information, provide medical contact details and will sign the waivers provided by NYSA.

Cost: The cost to pre-register online for tryouts is $22.  It is $30 to register online on the day of tryouts.  No cash or check will be accepted at the field, all payments will be handled through our online registration only. This is a non-refundable fee. We strongly encourage advance online registration for tryouts.

Age Group: Please review the US Youth Soccer Age Chart at the bottom of this page to determine which age group to register your player for.

Updates: Once registered, any updates or changes to tryout details will be communicated to the email you provided during registration. ALWAYS check back to this site to confirm dates, times, and locations.

 

Tryout Information

Tryouts are held over the course of two days and are for players to demonstrate their individual and team skills, technical knowledge of soccer, energy, and attitude in activities such as drills and/or full-sided scrimmages before an evaluation team of trained coaches. 

Schedule: Please see our posted Tryout Schedule for days, times and field locations for tryouts.

Attendance: It is recommended that players attend both tryout sessions to ensure that our coaches have ample opportunity to evaluate each player. If you can only make one of the sessions, then be sure to let the registrar know at the tryout check-in table so they can pass the information along to the coaches evaluating the sessions. If you are unable to make either days, please still register for tryouts and then email info@northshoreselect.org to let us know so that your player can have an opportunity to do a supplemental tryout at a future time.

NO ‘Walk-Up’ Registration: Please note that NSC will no longer accept “walk up” registration on the day of tryouts. All players that have not pre-registered for tryouts will be asked to register online using a smart phone/device at the field. Those players can then provide the check-in table with their confirmation email to proceed with tryouts. All payments are handled online and we will not accept cash or check at the field.

Check In Process: Please plan to arrive 15-20 minutes early to check in for tryouts.  Parking may be limited at some locations so plan accordingly. Players and parents should obey social distancing rules.  There will be check-in volunteers to help direct players and parents where to go.

Players will be issued a numbered jersey upon check in.  Jerseys will be returned at the end of each session.

New Players to NSC: Players who are new to NSC should bring a birth certificate or passport to the first tryout they attend.

What to Wear and Bring: Players should wear appropriate soccer attire, footwear, shin guards and bring a labeled water bottle. Players should also bring a labeled ball to tryouts.

What NOT to Wear and Bring: Player should not wear current team or club affiliated clothing or uniforms during the tryouts including socks, shorts or jerseys. They may be asked to remove such items during the tryouts.  Players may NOT wear jewelry of any kind, including watches, fitbits, necklaces, rings, earring or bracelets. 

Please do not bring your dog (or animals) to tryouts unless they are specially trained guide dogs for the visually impaired.
